FAQs

  • I am currently only providing telehealth.

  • First, I want to acknowledge and congratulate you on this first big step. Considering therapy, accepting that you might need extra support, and taking the steps to find a therapist can bring up so many different emotions and thoughts. I imagine it was not an easy decision.

Finding a good fit is important. Many of the research on therapy outcomes indicate that the therapeutic relationship is an important factor. So I would suggest contacting several different therapists and have a consultation with them to see if this is someone you would feel comfortable working with.

  • During our consultation, I will get to know you a bit, what brings you to therapy, and what you are hoping to get out of therapy. It will also be a time for you to ask me any questions you might have. If it is a good fit for the both of us, then we will schedule our first session and I will send you a link to the client portal.

There will be forms for you to fill out prior to our first session and we will get a chance to review them during session. Initially, I may ask a lot of questions about various aspects of your life to have a fuller picture of you. After that, sessions will be non-directive in order to give you the space to talk about what is on your mind at that time.

I know starting therapy can feel scary and overwhelming. Feel free to contact me if you have questions or concerns.

  • You can cancel session for whatever reason by directly cancelling through the client portal, contacting me through the secure messaging system, text, email, or phone call. I just ask that you cancel 24 hours in advance otherwise the full fee for the session will be charged.
